Wedding Day Recap - Ceremony

After about 2 or so hours of taking pictures at Pier 5, we finally headed to the church to get married.

G09208CL-0594

Finally walking into the church after I had to hide behind the limo while the last bus of guests arrived at the church. Guess we didn't time it as well as we thought, but at least everyone made it to the church. It was at this point when the nerves hit me.

G09208CL-0595

Hanging out with the girls while we waited for our turns to walk down the aisle.

G09208CL-0639

Walking down the aisle with my dad. If there was going to be a moment where I cried, this was it. I was so excited to get up that aisle to Ryan, but I also felt so overwhelmed by the fact that all of our friends and family that we love so much were all in one place to celebrate our wedding with us. It was truly an amazing feeling. Somehow, I was able to keep my composure and hold the tears back, but it took everything I had.

G09208CL-0647

I love this picture of me and my dad. I'm pretty sure that I'm looking at Ryan, hence the huge smile on my face.

G09208CL-0648

I also love this picture for a couple reasons. 1) It's me and my dad. 2) You can see how beautiful the floor of the church is. 3) You can see Ryan's Uncle Mike with his huge camera leaning way out to get a picture.

G09208CL-0651

My dad giving me away.

G09208CL-0692

During the homily/readings. For some reason, we couldn't stop chatting with each other.

G09208CL-0695

A picture of our beautiful church.

G09208CL-0707

Another cool picture of the church - I think this was taken with the fish-eye lens.

G09208CL-0724

The blessing of the rings. So, apparently, we were supposed to give both of the rings to Dave so that he could give them to our Deacon ahead of time. I had given the rings to Becky thinking that she'd hold Ryan's ring and then when we got to the church, she'd just give my ring to Dave. So, when the guys were hanging with the Deacon before the ceremony, he asked Dave for the rings, and he didn't have them! So, they texted me, and of course I didn't have my cell phone with me in the limo. Since they couldn't get ahold of us, they started to get a little anxious about the rings even though Becky had them both with her. We almost ended up using Ryan's parents rings for the ceremony, but we arrived and the rings were given to Dave just in time.

G09208CL-0732

With this ring...

G09208CL-0736

Deacon: "Alright, Ryan, please give Wendy your left hand for the ring." As you can see in the picture, he got his left and right confused and had his right hand out for me. So, I'm giving him the "Are you kidding me?!" look and you can also see the Deacon laughing at me/Ryan. I absolutely love that our photographer caught this shot.

G09208CL-0737

Finally, we figured out left from right, but you can see that we both are still laughing as I'm starting to put the ring on his LEFT hand.

Drumroll, Please....

So... Ryan and I have a big announcement to make. We are so excited to announce that there will be a new addition to our little family. This is something that I have been thinking about for months, and I could not be more excited. Ryan, while excited, is a little hesitant about this new arrival. Scroll down for a picture of our addition that will be arriving soon.

What? You didn't think I was going to say I was pregnant, did you?

This post is dedicated to Aunt Sue who told me she was happy that I am keeping the blog going so I can post our next big announcement. I assumed that she meant the next big announcement would be that we're having a baby, and I jokingly told her that the next big announcement would be that we're buying a DSLR. Well, it's true. We are buying a DSLR, and I am very excited about it!

Wedding Day Recap - Wendy & Ryan

After the pictures with our families and the wedding party, the photographer took a few pictures of just Ryan and me.

G09208CL-0476

Hanging out by the lighthouse.

G09208CL-0526

Hanging out in the alley behind the E&Y building. Although I like this picture, the way we are posed kind of reminds me of a prom picture.

G09208CL-0527

A similar picture, but landscape instead.

G09208CL-0535

Even though this looks like an advertisement for Hard Rock Cafe, this is one of my favorite pictures of us. I think we had our wedding party working the bridge traffic so we could get some pictures alone. They were good little traffic cops.

G09208CL-0554

Walking along the bridge (you can kind of see people on the other side of us), but it almost looks like we're alone.

G09208CL-0559

A sweet little kiss on the bridge.

G09208CL-0577

This picture makes me laugh every time I see it. Ryan is supposed to be "checking me out".

G09208CL-0580

Although I love this picture with the Pier 5 Hotel sign, I about died when the photographer asked Ryan to pick me up. If you look closely, you can see that it was a bit of an awkward pose for us.

Wedding Day Recap - Wedding Party Pictures

After we took pictures with our families, we got the wedding party involved. It was a lot of fun to finally get to hang out with the combined wedding party before the ceremony. We took quite a few pictures, but thankfully, the weather was gorgeous and everyone was very cooperative.

G09208CL-0467

Me with the guys.

G09208CL-0473

The girls bringing it in tight around Ryan.

G09208CL-0497

All of us.

G09208CL-0500

I think this one is kind of an out-take. I think the photographer told everyone to look at us while we kissed, and Ryan and I must have totally missed that part. Looks pretty funny that everyone is staring at us while we just stood there smiling.

G09208CL-0501

Guess we finally got the memo.

G09208CL-0516

This is another one of my favorite pictures from the day. It took us all a while to figure out what the photographer wanted us to do for this picture, but as you can see we finally got it, and the results were great!

Wedding Day Recap - Family Time

After our first look, we gathered up the families and let them get in on the picture-taking action. We are so very lucky to have such amazing families, and these are pictures that we will always cherish.

G09208CL-0384

Not 100% sure what was going on here, but it looks like Ryan's dad was thinking how well his son cleans up, and his mom was cleaning him up a bit more to make sure he looked his best for me. :)

G09208CL-0402

Me and my dad. He sure looks good in his tux, doesn't he?

G09208CL-0420

My wonderful family. I love how beautiful they look and how well the colors go together in this picture.

G09208CL-0436

Dad and his girls.

G09208CL-0438

We have a very similar picture from my dad and Linda's wedding, so we thought we'd keep up with tradition.

G09208CL-0445

Ryan and his parents.

G09208CL-0452

Ryan and his wonderful family.

The next 3 are pretty self-explanatory. I think they turned out so well!

Wedding Day Recap - First Look

Ryan and I chose to do a "first look" for one reason. It was very important to us that we would be able to spend as much time with our family and friends at the cocktail hour and reception. We still missed a good part of the cocktail hour, but this was the best option for us because it also took away some of the pressure of seeing each other for the first time that day in front of all of closest family and friends.

G09208CL-0304

On my way to see my handsome soon-to-be husband for the first time that day. At first I couldn't figure out how to walk without my dress dragging the ground so some of my entourage followed me part of the way to make sure I would be ok.

G09208CL-0307

Getting closer. You can still kind of see Crystal and Becky in the background. And you can also see that I figured out how to manage the dress. :)

G09208CL-0309

Seeing Ryan (well, his back at least) for the first time. I was so nervous as I started walking across the grass towards him. I honestly had no idea what his reaction would be.

G09208CL-0315

Guess who! (I think I was reaching up to tap him on the shoulder here.)

G09208CL-0318

The reaction. It was a good one! We stood there chatting for a while. Since we hadn't talked at all that morning, it felt like we hadn't seen/talked to each other in forever!

G09208CL-0375

What first look isn't complete without a "first" kiss?

G09208CL-0376

The guys decided to relax during our first look.

G09208CL-0377

This is one of my absolute favorite pictures from the day. We were trying to round up the wedding party and our families, and Ryan and I were just chatting about the events of the day when the photographer caught this picture. I don't even think we knew he took it.
