Happy Birthday, Grandmom!!  Caitlin looks so sad because she had to go to bed before Ryan got to call you and wish you a happy birthday.  We made her feel better by telling her that she'd get to see you next weekend!   We hope you had a wonderful day and love you very much!!

July 30

Someone loves milk (and spaghetti, in case you can't tell what's all over her face)!  Lately, I really can't get over what a big girl she has become.  She will ALWAYS be my baby, but she is turning into a little girl.  I love it and hate it at the same time!  We got back from the beach this morning.  It was a great week, but it's nice to be home, too.  Caitlin ran around like a mad woman from toy to toy like she had never seen her toys before - she was so excited about them!

July 29

Just a girl and her Bunny.  Caitlin was takingBunny on a tour of the beach.  She ran all over the place with him, and I had to wrestle with her to get him out of her hands when she decided that she wanted to run towards the water.  She was not happy that Bunny couldn't go swimming with her!  Bunny definitely took a beating this week, but nothing a good spin in the washing machine won't get rid of!

July 28

Ryan had to go home on Wednesday night to go back to work, so Grandmom and Granddad joined us at the beach for the rest of the week.  Caitlin was a little standoffish with Granddad at first, but all he had to say to her was "Let's go play in the water" and she was game!  Thanks, Granddad and Grandmom for hanging out with us - we had a blast (and I really appreciated all their help)!  Caitlin would also like to apologize to Grandmom for waking her up so early every morning.  

July 27

It's hard work being a beach bum.  Today was the day when Ryan and I (mostly Ryan) showed Caitlin how much fun it is to play in the water.  Ryan worked with her every day to help her realize how much fun it would be, and I don't think he could have been any more proud of her for playing in the water with us!  It even got to the point where she was running towards the water or dragging us to get closer!

July 26

Happy 14-month birthday, Caitlin!  We had a great day on the beach with you. The weather finally cooled off a bit, and we were able to enjoy it a little more.  You loved running around in the beach tent - it was the only place where you could get away from the sand!

July 25

We went out to an early bird dinner on the Washington Street Mall on Monday.  After dinner, we let Caitlin walk/run around the mall to burn off some excess energy.   Caitlin found one of the fountains and must have thought it was just one big water table because she loved splashing in them. Her shirt was pretty wet after she was done.   She also managed to charm all the people (mostly seniors and other families) who were out on the mall with us.  Who can blame them - we think she's the cutest too!

First day in Cape May.  She did not love the sand, but she did love the birds (seagulls).  She's reaching for one in this picture.  By the end of the week, she was chasing them down.

I asked her to find her belly button.  Such a good listener.

She was bringing me her book to read to her.   The last couple days have been pretty trying.  I can't do anything to make her happy, and she gets pissed that I don't know what she wants and just cries.  I hope this phase (I'm praying that's what it is) passes quickly!

She is such a stinker!  In case you can't tell, she's standing in her rocking chair.  Yes, I am that mom that continued to take pictures of her while I told her to sit on her butt.

She was very interested in my toes tonight.  Not sure if she thought she was doing "This Little Piggy" or if she just liked my toenail polish.

July 17

"What?  You mean this isn't an appropriate seating option?"  Not sure what she was thinking, but she shoved Bunny in her bus and then proceeded to sit on the bus.  Oh, and she slept until 8am both days this weekend.  It was pretty amazing to sleep in!

47 Weeks Old

Caitlin,
You turned 47 weeks old on April 19th.  Here's a recap in pictures of your 47th week with us.

You pushed Bunny in your stroller across our bedroom. 

You chewed on Bunny a little bit. 

Still chewing on Bunny, but now you're interested in the bear on the stroller. 

You emptied my laundry basket (with clean clothes in it).

And then you went back to pushing the stroller. 

You crawled under the chair in the kitchen. 

You were not happy when you realized that you couldn't stand up. 

You dug through your diaper bag to see what was in it. 

You  must have found something interesting on the floor. 

You walked around without your pants on, and you were pretty happy about it! 

You crawled toward me.  I love how determined you look in this picture. 

You checked out your highchair and stood on your tiptoes. 

You walked into the office and tried to open the filing cabinet. 

You talked to me while you played in the walker. 

You chewed on your walker. 

You chewed on good ol' Sophie. 

Such a happy girl!

You read your Good Puppy book with Daddy.  

I was gathering clothes to give to your new baby cousin, and you decided to empty out the tote.  

You played with Daddy's computer. 

"Mom, why do you have to take pictures of me?  I'm busy playing with the computer!"

Daddy tickled you. 

I put you in the tote to hang out for a bit. 

We had lunch at Looney's Pub.  You tried french fries for the first time, and of course you liked them. Who doesn't like french fries!?

You played in your walker some more. 

You gave Bunny kisses.

We had dinner with Dave, Cindy & Connor tonight.  Caitlin loves eating outside - I think we need to do it more often at home because she ate really well!  It's hard to see in the picture, but she has an ice cream mustache - she loved my vanilla ice cream!

She was telling us a story tonight.  Today was water play day at school, and she loved it!!
