September 15

By the end of the week, Caitlin was very fond of Leah's (her old) bouncy seat.  When Leah was sitting in it, she would repeatedly turn on the frog that plays music for her.  It was really cute. Caitlin also decided that she wanted to sit in it when Leah wasn't using it.  She really liked sitting up and laying back down quickly to make it bounce.  I think she liked it more now than she did when she was a baby.


Leah was ready to go to the beach, and she was pretty happy about it!

September 14

This kid cracks me up.  She LOVES putting things on her head.  One day, at home while I was doing the laundry, she went as far as putting a pair of my clean underwear on her head and walking around the house with them.  So, the fact that she found the bottoms of her tankini and put them on her head while we were at the beach didn't surprise me one bit.  Ryan and I spent this day recovering from being sick, and Caitlin got sick.  We don't think she had the same thing we did, but she did have a 101 fever and was pretty clingy, snuggly, and cranky.  Needless to say, we didn't make it to the beach that day.  The next day, she developed a weird rash on her butt that spread to hear legs, feet, arms and face.  We went to the doc when we got home, and it turned out that she had hand, foot and mouth disease.  She had a pretty mild case, and she is fine now, thank goodness! 


Leah loves her animal friends on the activity mat.  Unfortunately, because I wasn't feeling that well on this day, this was the best picture that I got of her.

September 13

She is too funny.  Everytime I pick up the camera lately, she runs toward me so I have a lot of shots with her closer than normal.  Today was a good day.  We spent the day at the beach, and she went in the water with Ryan and Granddad.  We also took her to the arcade where she rode 2 little rides and played skee ball and bowling with Ryan.  Near the arcade is a nice park, and we hung out there for a while - Caitlin went on the swings and went down the slide by herself!  Ryan and I were supposed to have date night tonight (Caitlin stayed home with Aunt Alexis and Grandmom), but as soon as our dinner came out, I was feeling sick.  I don't know if it was something that I ate or what, but I did not feel well!  As Ryan said later in the week, "that was the most expensive takeout ever" because we ended up taking our meals to go. I was sick all night and so was Ryan, but we finally started feeling a little better by lunchtime the next day.  It is no fun to be sick while you're on vacation!!


I thought this picture was most appropriate because Little Miss Overachiever cut her first tooth (bottom middle left popped first and then the right one showed up) while we were at the beach.  It was a big week for Leah!! 

September 12

Caitlin tried fig newtons today, and she loved them!  She also wore her first (and probably her last) Juicy Couture outfit.  It was a little bit big, and it one point, she pulled the whole thing off and stepped out of it, but she still looked really cute in it.



Leah found her fingers on the beach (and looked at me like I was crazy).


Tonight before dinner, we got a cute picture of the 2 cousins together. There will be MANY pictures like this in the future.

Another first for Leah at the beach... her first laugh!  There is nothing better than a baby laughing!!

September 11

My baby looked like such a big girl chasing the birdies today.  She slept until almost 9am this morning!  What a treat - hopefully, this trend continues for the rest of the week!


Leah took her first nap on the beach today too.  What a cutie!

September 10

We are spending the week with the beautiful Miss Leah, so I will be doing One Frame a Day x 2 since she is so stinking cute too!

 
We asked Caitlin to put the hat on Baby Leah's head, and this is what happened. Such a big helper! It was a valiant effort on Caitlin's part, but unfortunately, it looks like she's trying to suffocate her.


Leah's Daddy put those socks on her.  I love this picture where she's looking at him like "Really, Dad?  Did you really think these socks matched this outfit??"  I can't believe what a big girl she is - those little legs are strong!!
