Caitlin's First Birthday Party

Caitlin,

We celebrated your first birthday as a family on May 26th, but the real party happened on June 4th!  The weather was perfect, and you had a blast with your friends and family!  Surprisingly, you took a long morning nap on the day of your party and then another long afternoon nap right before the party started.  I had to wake you up for your own party!  It was a great day, and we had so much fun celebrating your 1st birthday!  We love you, baby girl!! 

Here you are in your party dress.  You weren't sure what to think about these people being in your house.

You had a little lunch before we served the cake.

Your friend Katie, played with your stroller. 

You wore your birthday crown while Aunt Becky held you. 

You watched everyone while we sang happy birthday to you. 

Mommy helped you blow out your candle. 

I tried to show you that icing was yummy. 

Daddy did, too, but you wanted no part of it. 

Daddy even put cheddar bunnies in your cake to entice you to try it.  No such luck.  

Your friend Abby tried to say hi or maybe even give you a high five.  

You tried to get away from her. 

You wore you happy 1st birthday hat. 

You quickly took it off.  Yes, your mouth was full of cheddar bunnies in this picture. 

Daddy tried again to get you to eat your cake.  Again, you weren't interested, and you continued to eat your cheddar bunnies. 

You played with the ball popper with Katie. 

You moved on to play with your music table.

Pop Pop tried to give you some beer, but we had to remind him that you weren't old enough.  Maybe in 20 years!

You decided to show everyone how you can walk.  This is really the first time you realized that you could walk more than a few steps at a time.  Everyone was so excited to see you walking!  We loved how you held your hands out in front of you to keep you steady.

You and Daddy watched the cars go by.


You told Daddy a story.


After most people left, you found your presents and brought us a card to tell us you were ready to open some of them.


You got some really cute clothes including this tank top and capri set.


You also got some really neat books.  

52 Weeks Old

Caitlin,

You turned 52 weeks old on May 24th.  Here's the very last weekly recap in pictures (of your 52nd week)!  

You played with the recycle box. 

You played by your high chair and talked to me. 

You "read" your lift the flap book. 

You tried to get out of your bath tub. 

You talked to me and I caught a funny face. 

So serious. 

You found your yellow animals book. 

And then you read it - you LOVE that book! 

You made a cute face for me while you were eating. 

You pushed your stroller around the house.  The stroller goes pretty fast  when you push it on the hardwoods, so you were struggling to keep up a little bit.  Those pants are also a little too big for you, so they were falling down a bit (you can really see it in the next picture).  

Still pushing your stroller.  You love that thing.  

Roadblock - the wall got in your way. 

Daddy let you drink from his glass of water.

So happy about pushing that stroller around the house! 

Our community had a yard sale, and Daddy and I decided that we should go on a family walk and check it out.  We scored this walk-behind toy for you for $2.  The best way for us to bring it back to our house was to put it in your wagon.  At the time of this post (about 4 months later), you still love this toy - best $2 we've ever spent.  

You tried to take your hat off. 

You were very excited about your new toy, so you clapped your hands!  Yay!  

Not sure what it is about this picture, but I love it.

You looked so darn cute in your hat. 

You played by your exersaucer. 

And then you tried to chew on the mirror. 

You crawled on the bottom of the exersaucer.

You remembered that the fan was up there.  

You played with your farm animal push toy. 

You chewed on your teething ring.  

We went to Connor's 2nd birthday party at the petting zoo, and you weren't sure what to think about everything.  

I took a cute picture of you and Daddy together (even though you wouldn't look at me).  

You rode a horse with Daddy's help.

You gave me a pretty smile.  

You played outside and you were talking to me, and I caught a not so cute face.  

Still jabbering away! 

You found your hair, and gave me a pretty smile. 

We gave you some new finger foods to try - carrots, broccoli, and strawberries,.  

Turns out, you were allergic to strawberries as you can see by that nice little rash on your face.
